The “KwaliteitsRegister voor Pedicures (KRP)” is a system developed by ProCERT to guarantee the quality of pedicures. Health insurance companies expect of their caregivers to keep their knowledge up. Every profession within health care has its own system.
The market in health care is developing into a market in which caregivers work together more and more. In this market there is a growing need for professional and specialized pedicures working according to an agreed protocol, a directive. In the “KwaliteitsRegister voor Pedicures (KRP)” the qualities of the profession are laid down. The system offers consumers and chain partners (including health insurance companies and nurses) the possibility to gain insight into the quality of the registered pedicure and consequently into the quality of the treatments. The “KRP” helps these pedicures to register nationally.
ProCERT developed the registration system in such a way that the profession of pedicures is transparent and the quality of the profession and the professional practice is guaranteed. One of the conditions is that the registration system is in keeping with the quality standards of the branch organization.

The quality standards rest on four pillars:
1. Competence: formulated in professional competences and recorded in a certificate;
2. Foot-care company code: practicing one’s profession under hygienic  and environmentally sound working conditions;
3. Directives: practicing one’s profession in the prescribed way;
4. Accreditation scoring system: keeping up with knowledge and skills in the field.

The quality register for pedicures and so the admission conditions as well are based on the above-mentioned pillars.
