LaStone massage therapy

LaStone Massage Therapy is a therapy developed in the United States by Mary Nelson with which hot basalt stones and cold marble stones are used. These stones are placed under and on the body and massaged with resulting in a deep, cleansing and stimulating treatment of the body. The very combination of hot and cold stones make the approach so special.

The treatment is relaxing and acts on the whole of body and mind because the energy flow in the body is also affected. Particularly the cold stones are very therapeutic. This may sound uncomfortable but just think about how refreshing the cold plunge is after the sauna. Not until then the body is capable of relaxing and disposing of waste matter as opposed to the hot stone massage that only works with hot stones.

The alternation of hot and cold stones is characteristic of the LaStone Massage Therapy. The hot stones stimulate the circulation, improve the metabolism, reduce muscle cramps and give relaxation. The cold stones cause vasoconstriction, reduction of pain, relief and elimination of inflammations and stimulation of various physical  processes. LaStone Massage Therapy can therefore not be compared to an “ordinary” relaxation massage. It goes much deeper!

Clients experience complete relaxation and stimulation of body and mind both during and after the treatment.
