Botox ® is a safe and successful agent with well over 10 years of experience in the cosmetic practice by now. Botox is applied successfully to remove or reduce mimic wrinkles, such as frowning lines, crow’s feet and brow wrinkles. Botox ® is one of the most popular treatments presently available for skin rejuvenation. Apart from that Botox ® is extremely useful to counter excessive perspiration. (hyperhydrosis). Think for instance of excessive perspiring under the armpits which causes people to change outer clothes sometimes even several times a day. Finally, the last few years favourable effects and results have been gained  with applying Botox ® with the treatment to reduce migraine.

A Botox ® treatment is simple and implies the application of a tiny quantity of Botox ® to superficial muscles. Botox ® is fit for both men and women and is also used by either of them.

A Botox ® treatment takes 30 minutes on average. The results are visible and/or noticeable within a week. The effect may last up to 6 months and will be visible and/or noticeable longer the more treatments have taken place.

Institute Stadhouderslaan has a partnership with Easy Cosmetics in Amsterdam. Only non-permanent fillers are used because of the higher degree of safety of these materials. In addition these non-permanent fillers have many other advantages

The following fillers are used by Easy Cosmetics:
* Restylane (Restylane Touch/Vital/Normal/Perlane/SubQ/Restylane Lipp);
* Surgiderm/Surgilips;
* Juvederm ULTRA;
* Radiesse.

Restylane (hyaluronic acid) is one of the most well-known fillers on the market used at the moment and is made of nonhuman products (as are all products used by them).

That is why there is hardly any allergy to this agent. Hyaluronic acids are long-chain molecules capable of attracting and retaining moisture in the skin by which volume is created. Hyaluronic acids stay in the injected place for 12 months on average after which the filling degree diminishes. Without any problems additional treatments can be given between times if desired.

Possibilities with Restylane:
* lips;
* nose/lip lines;
* upper lip lines (radial lip lines);
* corners of the mouth;
* crow’s feet (with Botox);
* frowning lines (with Botox);
* laugh lines;
* cheekbones (contouring of volume).

Surgiderm (lip variant Surgilips) is also a hyaluronic acid resembling Restylane.

Surgiderm consists of the following products:
* Surgiderm 18, 24, 30;
* Surgiderm 24 XP and 30 XP;
* Surglips for the lips.

The differences between the various products mainly relate to various thicknesses of the material. The viscosity is different what makes them all serve different purposes. So we use the thin Surgiderm 18 for the upper lip lines (superficial treatment), whereas Surgiderm 30 XP is very suitable for the nose/lip line because of the great filling capacity of Surgiderm 30 XP.

The difference between Restylane and Surgiderm is that Surgiderm is more suitable in certain cases because of this greater filling capacity.

Juvederm ULTRA is in principle similar to Surgiderm yet with the major difference that an anesthetic has been added to the hyaluronic acid. By this the treated areas are anaesthetized automatically during the treatment and there is a  substantial reduction in any uncomfortable feelings during the treatment.

The treatment possibilities of Juvederm are similar to those of Surgiderm with the exception of the lips. For the lips we still use Surgilips in view of the fact that there is no suitable alternative available.

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite. The material consists of calcium and a carrier which disappears after a couple of weeks leaving behind only the calcium. This gives a very natural filling but also stimulates the local fibroblasts to produce collagen around and between the injected place. The great advantage of Radiesse is that the material and the result will stay for approximately 2 years.  Radiesse is a very capable filler and extremely fit for deep grooves and lines or contours. Radiesse is not fit for the fine lines and wrinkles or for filling the lips.
